Jhansi. The first meeting of the monitoring committee formed on the instructions of NGT to eliminate illegal construction from Laxmi Tal was held in the Municipal Corporation on Tuesday. The committee directed to mark the illegal constructions on the pool within a week. With immediate notice to the identified illegal builders, they will be given only one week to respond. After this, JDA will start action to end illegal construction.
The matter of the plight of Laxmi Tal had reached the NGT (National Green Tribunal). Expressing displeasure over the plight of the historic rhythm, the NGT had directed to initiate action. After this, a six-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Municipal Commissioner. The first meeting of this committee was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Avnish Rai.The committee members discussed the current situation of Laxmi Tal in detail. Documents related to Laxmi Tal were presented before the committee. According to the revenue records, the total area of the pond is 33.068 or 82.22 acres. The committee decided to get this land verified on the spot. The measurement of land will start on August 13.The revenue team has been given a week's time. During this, along with marking the illegal occupation, the boundary wall of the pool will also be fixed. JDA VC Sarvesh Dixit said that construction has been done on the land adjoining Laxmi Tal and Narayan Bagh, contrary to the master plan. This construction will also be marked. The committee has also asked to prepare a plan to stop the dirty drains found in it.Additional Municipal Commissioner Shadab Aslam, Additional District Magistrate Ram Akshaywar Chauhan, Niranjan Sharma Regional Pollution Control Officer, Naib Tehsidar Devendra Pratap, In-Charge Property Col NN Vajpayee, RC Srivastava and others were present in the meeting.
