The National Operations Center for the prevention of Corona said that this lockdown started at 10 pm on Friday and will remain in force till 4 am on August 30.

At the same time, more than 3800 new corona cases were reported in the country. This is also a record in itself. According to official figures, so far 6790 people have lost their lives in Sri Lanka due to corona infection.At the same time, 3,73,165 people have been infected with it in Sri Lanka so far. Health experts say that the western province, including the capital Colombo, is most affected by this epidemic. Significantly, due to the imposition of continuous lockdown, the tourism business in this country has been affected a lot.
Sri Lankan Army Chief General Shavendra Silva, who is also the head of the Kovid Prevention Center, said that the quarantine curfew will be in force from 10 pm on 20 August to 4 am on 30 August. Earlier, the Sri Lankan President was not in favor of imposing a lockdown in the country. He said that by doing this, the economy of the already bad country would go into more trough. However, he was forced to take this decision under pressure from people belonging to the intellectual sect and his allies.
