Jhansi. Under Catch the Rain, the exercise to save rain water has started. Jhansi Development Authority has earmarked a place inside the medical college for this. On Thursday, JDA started metering for the pond. Along with preparing the pond here, beautification of the surrounding place will also be done.
Old water bodies are being revived under Catch the Rain. JDA has been given the task of reviving two ponds. One pond is being developed near Raksa while another pond built in Medical College campus has been included. The JDA team led by Secretary Tribhuvan Vishwakarma reached here and inspected the spot.Right now the water of the open part of the medical college fills here. JDA's plan is to deepen it and bring all the surrounding rain water here. For this the catchment area will be increased. With the deepening of the pond, its boundary wall will be prepared. Trees and plants will be planted here for beautification.Seats will also be installed to sit around. About one crore rupees will be spent on this entire project. According to JDA VC Sarvesh Dixit, its DPR is being prepared. The work will be started soon after that.
25 lakh toilet to be built inside the college campus For the convenience of the attendants coming to the medical college, JDA will also construct a seven seater toilet at a cost of about 25 lakhs. For this also the land has been marked today. The toilet will be constructed through Sulabh International. Its maintenance will also be done through the organization. According to VC Sarvesh Dixit, its construction will also start soon.
