Jhansi. Water has started coming in the reservoirs of Jhansi division due to the rain in the surrounding areas including Jhansi for more than twenty four hours. Due to the increase in water pressure, about 1.5 lakh cusecs of water was released in Betwa by opening twenty gates of Matatila dam till Tuesday evening. However, the Betwa river is still flowing below the danger mark. According to the engineers of the irrigation department, the speed of water has reduced on Tuesday.
It rained heavily on Sunday and Monday in the catchment area of Betwa. Due to incessant rains in the adjoining areas including Jhansi, a lot of water reached the Matatila Dam. According to Executive Engineer Mo. Farid, the gates of the dam had to be opened from late Monday night due to excess water. First 16 gates were opened at 6 feet. After that on Tuesday, all 20 gates were opened at a height of two feet. After opening the gate, 50 thousand cusecs of water was released in Betwa on Monday. Whereas till late Tuesday evening, 1.45 lakh cusecs of water was released in Betwa.
After releasing this water, the water level of Betwa has increased. However, engineers of the Irrigation Department say that there is no danger yet. so much water released from dams
According to the data of the Irrigation Department, 142000 cusecs of water was released from Dhukuwan Dam, 212000 cusecs from Parichha Dam in Betwa on Tuesday. At the same time, 5000 cusecs of water has been released in Dhasan river from Pahari Dam, 3200 cusecs from Lahchura Dam, 800 cusecs from Dongri Dam, 1500 cusecs in Pahujnj river. The water level of Betwa river was flowing at 193.62 meters below the danger mark of 205 meters at Note Ghat on Tuesday.
Dongri became full, waiting for water in Rajghat The Dongri Dam has been filled after the rain in the surrounding areas including Jhansi. After it was filled, its water was released into the Pahuj river. Similarly, 800 cusecs of water is being released into the river from the Chamrua Dam built on Pahuj. On the other hand, the speed of water in Rajghat Dam has not increased yet. There was no water released from there.
