Jhansi. Court Additional District and Sessions Judge (including POCSO Act) Nitendra Kumar sentenced the rapist to ten years imprisonment. Also imposed a fine of 20 thousand.
A woman had lodged a report in Mauranipur police station, in which she had told that on August 9, 2017 at around 11.30 am, her husband had gone to the market, mother-in-law had gone to school to pick up the children. She was alone in the house. Meanwhile, Vijay Srivas, a resident of Mohalla Gandhiganj, entered the house and raped him on the strength of a gun. On protesting, he was hit with the butt of a pistol and threatened to kill him if he made noise. On the complaint of the woman, the police registered a case against the accused and presented the charge sheet in the court.
Assistant District Government Advocate (Criminology) Atulesh Saxena said that the court after hearing the whole case sentenced the accused to 10 years imprisonment. Also imposed a fine of 20 thousand rupees. In default of payment of fine, additional imprisonment of six months shall be paid.
