Jhansi. Jhansi railway station will soon be named 'Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station'. The ongoing proceedings in this direction have gained momentum. For this, the Union Home Ministry has sought no objection from the Survey of India, Ministry of Railways and Posts. This information was given by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai in Parliament on Tuesday.
The first identity of Jhansi is with the name of Veerangana Maharani Laxmibai. As soon as the name of Jhansi is discussed, the name of the queen comes on people's lips. A campaign was launched by 'Amar Ujala' to name Jhansi station after the queen.In this, the participation of the general public to the public representatives was ensured. After this, a proposal to change the name of the station was sent to the Center by the state government. Now this campaign seems to be paying off.On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, while giving a written answer to a question in Parliament, said that the opinion has been sought from the agencies concerned as per the procedure to change the name of Jhansi station. The name will be changed after getting no objection from the Survey of India, Ministry of Railways and Posts.
Be aware that the Union Home Ministry gives approval to change the name of a place or station. It is approved after getting no objection from the Ministry of Railways and the Departments of Posts and Survey of India.
