Scam at the time of disaster unearthed in Uttarakhand- It was a shame for country that at the time of disaster, officers & others were involved in making money out of it. Bills of 6 months prior to disaster were found having Rs7000/day of hotels & Rs900/day for lunch & dinner. Even they have completed the disaster help activity before the actual disaster happened. At one side, people were looking for help from government, and on the other hand, officials were busy in loot of the funds allotted for disaster help. Officials submitted forged bills in Uttarakhand disaster relief work. A RTI reply has unearthed this scam.
Probe has been initiated by the central government. Chief Minister Rawat said “Action will be taken against those found guilty”
