The script of Hindi cinema's famous duo actress Richa Chadha and actor Ali Fazal's debut film 'Girls Will Be Girls' is the only Indian film selected for Gotham Week this year. The film is written by Shuchi Talati and she is also going to direct it. The script has been selected as part of the International Features section at this year's Gotham Week.
Girls Will Be Girls' is being produced by Richa Chadha and Claire Chasagne as an Indo-French coproduction with Ali Fazal, Sanjay Gulati and Pooja Chauhan. The team recently shot a video/teaser in DehradunWhich he hopes will help raise funds for the film on Gotham Week and beyond. The script was at the Berlinale Script Station earlier this year and is also the only Indian film selected for the Jerusalem Film Lab. This film lab is proposed at the end of this month.
Commenting on this, actress Richa said, “We look forward to getting like-minded investors and collaborators to join us in making this thrilling film at Gotham Week. It is a new and feminist story and I believe that the Indian There is a new voice in cinema.”
