Orchha (Jhansi). Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reached Orchha with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan on Friday evening. He was given a warm welcome at Hotel Orchha Palace here. Aishwarya will participate in the shooting of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Ponniyin Selvan to be held here on August 21. Other members of the unit, including actor Prakash Raj Ekarthi, have also reached Orchha. All the actors are staying at Orchha Palace.
Aishwarya reached Datia airstrip at 4 pm on Friday. After this reached Orchha by car. Aishwarya has arrived in Orchha for the shooting of Mani Ratnam-directed South Indian film Ponniyin Selvan. The film is a historical action drama based on the Tamil language epic. The story has been written by Mani Ratnam himself and he is directing as well as co-producing it. The film will be shot on 21st August in the grand palaces and temples of 16th century Orchha. Tight security arrangements have been made by the administration. There is a ban on the entry of people at the shooting site. It will be shot on 22nd August in Gwalior.
Mani Ratnam liked the location of Orchha Even before this, Mani Ratnam has shot for the film Ravana with Abhishek Bachchan in Orchha. During that time Abhishek Bachchan stayed at Hotel Amar Mahal in Orchha for about four days and the film was shot around Laxminarayan Temple. Some scenes were also filmed on the rolling of the Betwa river. This is the second time that Mani Ratnam has reached Orchha for the shooting of a South Indian film.
