Jhansi. The bullion market was closed on Monday in protest against the HUID Act (Hallmarking Unique ID) being brought by the Central Government on the purchase and sale of jewellery. Traders took out a rally in the market calling the law black. At the same time, people were told about the shortcomings of the new law.
On Monday, the traders kept the market closed under the leadership of Atul Kilpan, State Organization Minister of Uttar Pradesh Bullion Association and Mukesh Agarwal, President of the Bullion Market Committee. All shops in Sarafa Bazar, Manik Chowk, Taksal, Jawahar Wali Gali, Dixit Bagh, Sipri Bazar and Sadar Bazar remained closed during this period. Simultaneously, the businessmen took out a rally against the law.On this occasion, the business leaders said that this law will affect from the jewelery artisan to the consumer. If there is any discrepancy due to the hole mark on the jewellery, then only the authorized Holmark Center will be held responsible. HUID is a very complex and impractical law.
